Judah at 5 months

Time flies when you are having fun! And... we are having so much fun with this little monkey now. It is such a blessing to finally say that he has become such a good little guy. Of course, we have always loved him so much, but it is so wonderful that each month he becomes easier, more fun, more predictable, & more mellow. Other than his insistence on sleeping in a bed - no car seat naps or falling asleep in our arms for months now - he has become (I'm almost scared to type it) an easy baby. His toothless smiles & laughs have all of us wrapped around his finger & his sisters can't get enough of him. He learned lots of new skills this past month that are keeping him more entertained... he can roll over easily in both directions, spin in circles on his tummy, sit with just a little support to keep from falling sideways, gnaw on a mesh teether with ice or apple, hang out for a long while in his saucer/jumper, & play with his feet. We finally found his tickle spots & can make him laugh more often, although he's still a little stingy with them. Overall, this last month has been full of joy with our little man & I am so excited for what the summer will bring!

sleeping: great! He goes to bed between 7:30 & 8:30, gets a dream feed at 10, and sleeps until around 5am, today until 6:30. He goes back down easily most mornings until about 7 or 7:30am. He just dropped to 3 naps - still anywhere from 45 min to 2 1/2 hours. The best part is that we just swaddle him (I had to sew a bigger pocket onto the bottom of his miracle blanket for his long legs), lay him on his tummy, and he goes right to sleep. Love it!

eating: nursing every 3 to 4 hours during the day, with a 7 to 8 hour stretch at night. We have given him a couple of tastes of food, but won't start solids until next month.

likes: his crib mobile, the bath tub, putting everything in his mouth, watching Praise Baby dvds in the van, having his diaper changed & being on the changing table, being outside

dislikes: being held or in his carseat when he wants a nap... that's about it!
