Introducing Judah Thomas

Finally! The big day arrived & we got an early start - at the hospital by 5am. I wasn't really nervous, just SO ready to meet our little one. Here is the last picture of me with a baby belly! After a prayer over us by the very excited grandparents we headed to the OR. The surgery went very smoothly, and soon we were hearing the most precious sound ever - the first little cries of Judah Thomas Dayton! He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz & was 21 inches long... born at 7:17 am.

This in many ways was my best birth experience... the hospital had a new policy where csection babies got to stay with mommy in the OR & recovery - no long seperation right after birth in the nursery! It was a treasured time - we got to talk to him, watch him have all the tests, nurse right away, and snuggle. I loved every minute.
Judah got wheeled with me to my room to meet his grandparents - they were all just about to bust & couldn't wait to pass him around. Above - Grammy & Judah. Below - Nana & Daddy try to get him to open his eyes to see what color they are. His hair seems to be the color of Anna's - brown with a hint of auburn/red.
Another fun change - the nurse came to bath him in our room, so we got to keep him all day!
Snuggling skin to skin with Mommy to warm up after bath time. I tried to get lots of this sweet time with him throughout the hospital stay. There is nothing in the world like a warm, tiny baby cuddled up against you.
After he warmed up, the nurse dressed dressed him in these gifts from the hospital to meet his sisters - a hand crocheted santa hat & stocking. We LOVE our Christmas baby! The best gift ever.
Meeting Dingdaddy... this is his first grandSON!
Lana brought the girls up after lunch time. They kept saying, "He's just so cute, Mom! He's cuter than we thought he would be!" Mae asked Katie if she wanted to "pet" him.

In LOVE with their new brother.
