Disney day 3

On to day 3! We spent the third day in Magic Kingdom. I had made all of us girls matching outfits for the day, & I love this picture in front of the castle. The highlight of the morning was getting to ride the Buzz Lightyear ride three times in a row with no wait. Hooray for no line! Mae laughed through the entire ride & Anna loved shooting the lazer gun.

Mae also got to show off her crazy driving skills on Test Track. Anna worried a lot about what would happen if she bumped someone else (she asks me all the time if I'll pay for repairs if she wrecks as a teenager) & didn't really like how jerky the ride was, but Mae was all smiles even after being almost thrown out of the car over & over. That one may be 18 before we let her get a license.

We thought the funniest characters we met were the stepmother & sisters. They were really playing up their roles - so much so that Anna didn't want to get too close to them! They said that she was "intimidated by their beauty".

My girls LOVED the Bibbity-boppity Boutique. It was a precious experience that I'm so glad we did at these ages. They changed into their Cinderella gowns then got their hair done. Apparently, "fairy godmother's rules" say that all of their hair has to be pulled up. Anna does not like all of her hair off of her neck (she doesn't even care for ponytails), but she fell in love with this hair piece that they pinned on over her bun. We called it the "Elvira" look. She even changed her Halloween costume to Belle this year so she could have a reason to wear it again. The girls were really in awe of the whole process, & it was so sweet to watch their expressions. At the end, their fairy godmother sprinkles a wand of fairy dust over their heads (hair glitter). I didn't catch Mae's wish, but Anna's was for us to become Jumpstart members. Will it ever end?

After a few more rides, we went to dinner at the Grand Floridian with Cinderella, Prince Charming, & the Stepmother & sisters. Anna had gotten a little more used to how the Stepsisters acted "in character", so she was really glad to get a second chance at a picture with them.

One of our more memorable moments of the trip wasn't really so magical. After a late Spectromagic Parade, we decided to stay a little longer for the Wishes fireworks show even though everyone was exhausted & rain was threatening. At five minutes to nine, the sprinkles started coming down. We were determined, so we all put on ponchos & told the girls to lean back under the stroller cover. Just as the show was about to start, the sky opened & it started flooding rain. Kids were screaming because they thought all the firework booms were thunder & lightning, & people were running like crazy. Anna started bawling & begging to leave because her Cinderella dress was getting wet (we all wanted to cry with her at that point), and Mae fell asleep within about two minutes & didn't see a single firework. After close to an hour waiting for a shuttle bus with all of the other soaking wet people, we limped back to the hotel. It was one of those "parents of the year" moments when you are yelling at your kids, "we are here to watch the fireworks! I don't care if you get wet - you'll watch them & you'll enjoy it!"
