This past weekend we went to a "butterfly flutterby" festival with four of the girls sweet friends (Lana's girls - Katie & Kylee, and Molly's girls - Abby & Emma). We were so blessed by amazing fall weather - the kind of day were you don't really care what you do as long as you can be outside. The girls got to watch a little parade (mostly kids dressed as butterflies), get their faces painted, and our favorite part - release live Monarch butterflies. They passed out envelopes with tagged butterflies inside and had a count down for an all-together release. We were so glad that none of the girls squished their butterflies while they waited! Some of the butterflies were slow to fly away, so we got to spend several minutes holding some in our hands & watching them land on us. The girls loved it! Definately something we'll try to do again next year.

Loved these pictures. What a way to show the girls what God has created for us to enjoy.(everyone needs to click and enlarge the shot of the butterfly on your upraised hands)
Love the pic of the butterfly on Mae's head and the great shot of Anna and her friends with their painted faces. She looks so happy. You always find the neatest ways to show the girls God's gifts and give them great learning experiences.
