How we love this boy! It's a good thing for him that we do... because OH. MY. WORD. This baby is a ton of work! At two and a half months it seems like our family is perfectly complete with him in it, but Mae is right when she calls him our little troublemaker. His colic-y screaming did get better after I went on a strict dairy elimination diet, however you can see from the picture above that he can still be quite the grump! Our biggest issue right now is sleep... getting him to sleep & getting him to stay asleep. He is king of the 45 minute nap which leaves him a very unhappy & overtired camper. We have resorted to putting him on his tummy so that we can rhythmically pat his back to keep him from waking up. Even if we keep that up for an hour (which we often do), he sometimes just can't keep from jolting awake. Last night it took us 3 hours to get him to go to sleep because he was so overtired. We just feel so sorry for him when he's yawning, crying, and rubbing his little face but just can't get there - it's pitiful! When he does get enough rest we get to see the happy Judah - his smiles are precious! He is cooing & gurgling to us a lot more too. Other things to note at 2 1/2 months - he's growing... he can fill out 3 to 6 month clothes & I don't think he'll be in them for long. His eyes are still a dark, beautiful blue & we are starting to think they'll stay that way. We are so thankful for this precious gift. Every day we praise God for the happy moments, each and every nap we get, and for how supportive & helpful our friends & family have been as we struggle each day to figure out how to parent him & get enough rest. Sometimes we want to lose our minds but God is so gracious... we'll get some sweet smiles from Judah, a friend will bring us dinner or offer to keep our girls, and we will take a deep breath & keep on going!
