Mae's American Girl Tea Party

Our little girl is officially 5! To celebrate her birthday & her most favorite big girl gift - Kit - she wanted an American Girl tea party. I knew with our recent baby busyness I couldn't pull off an at-home party, but Grammy came to the rescue. She did all the shopping & planning for this sweet get together of a few of Mae's friends. The girls first made paper flowers for the table centerpiece, then attempted two crafts... the sewing craft became a take home project, it was a little too tricky! The girls also made bracelets for themselves & their dolls - and despite lots of dropped beads & trouble tying them, they were a success. Then they enjoyed their tea party food & pink lemonade tea - with a lump of sugar of course :). Mae opened her gifts then they all headed upstairs to watch the Kit AG movie. In the movie Kit & her friends take an oath of friendship in Kit's clubhouse, so all the girls got to pledge to be forever friends by putting their hands in a bowl of water together & taking the oath - they took this so seriously - it was too cute! Mae loved her party & I loved how well it went. It's amazing how sweet & well mannered this precious group of girls are. They all took turns, and it was neat to see Mae open all her cards first & thank each girl for her gifts - such big girl manners! Thank you Grammy for helping to make this a stress free, fun memory for all of us!

It was so special to see the little girls that are part of Mae's life in all their sweet glory. What fun watching them sip their lemonade and pledge to be friends always. You and Tom should be so proud of Mae who was so excited to see a handmade card and so quick to give a hug and thank you from her heart. You are truly raising a Godly girl.
