Our big first grader

How did she grow up so fast? It amazes me to look at her first day of kinder pics & see how much she's grown & matured. Anna woke up happy to her alarm clock this morning - we are grateful for that small miracle! She was quick to get dressed & the first one ready to go. She was really excited to wear her horse dress & new tennis shoes (at her school they go to PE every day & have to wear tennis shoes, but I was going to let her make an exception today & just bring them along).

She picked out this little box & filled it w/ candy for her teacher. She wrote her a note that said, "a sweet treat for a sweet teacher". I think having a present to give on the first day each year really keeps her mind off being nervous. After this, she sat down at her desk & we were off after a quick hug. It was so much easier this year to leave feeling confident that she will love school again & have a great time. I was feeling so sorry for the kinder parents as we left - that was a much tougher week!

Mae was thrilled to see her sister. This little one is going to be lost these next couple of weeks! Anna said that she had a fun day - the only details I got were that she has to leave her yellow walker arm band on all week, she played with hoola hoops in gym & went to art, and that they had to look at the same book for too long this morning (I think they had to sit at their desks for a long time during the drop off craziness). Thank you Lord for a great first day!

These brought unexpected tears this morning even though I saw some of them last nite via e-mail. Sweet, grown-up baby girl. How proud I am to be her grammy.

I was wondering how it went on the first day! Hopefully day #2 will be just as successful!
