Camping take 2

God blessed us with great weather on Saturday, despite the 80% chance of rain all day.  The kids rode their bikes a lot & tried to stay out of the grouchy ranger's way (the meanest state park ranger we've encountered in all our camping years).  We also went on a super long geocaching hike - finding two caches - the first in a tiny cemetary from the 1800's & the second near a pond.  Little 3 year old Leah spotted that one when all the adults with GPS units walked right by it.  Tom & his dad took the kids fishing that afternoon while the babies napped.  No one got a single bite, but did manage to get their lines tangled in the brush about 1,000 times.  :)  We had a couple of near ER visits that day as well... the first being our visit to the river swimming hole.  When Kelly saw a couple of teenagers in the freezing water she borrowed a tube & jumped right in.  Presley (age 5) followed her.  Not good.  Within seconds she was going under in the freezing water & Pappy had to dive in after her.  The current & Presley grabbing on him weren't a good combo, so my brother Josh ended up jumping in to help them both.  Very scary.  Thankful that it ended well, with just a few wet & freezing people.  Dylan also fell out of the top bunk in Nana & Pappy's rented camper & got a concussion, and Paige (age 1) was inches from falling into the camp fire.  God is good & had His hand on us all weekend!  On our second night the rain finally arrived, along with wind, thunder, & hail.  Fine if you are in a camper or pop up, but not fine if you are Mike, Krystal, Ayden, & Ary in our old tent!  After trying to manage all the leaks for a while, they decided to abandon ship & split up into our popup & Josh's.  That put Judah in our bed for the night - a party!  This was his first trip out of the pack n play.  He was literally swinging from the roof support during nap time until I caught him on the monitor, and then had a blast being silly in our bed during the storm.  We were all happy but exhausted by the end of the weekend.  Loved spending time with the whole family - sweet memories!

baby Paige looked like a little orphan by the end of the day - you know kids are having fun when they are covered in dirt!
