Family Retreat

Our small (ahem, large - about 20 families) group is such a huge blessing to us & a big part of our lives. I love that every year we get to spend a weekend enjoying relationships that we've built over 11 years & fostering new ones. This years retreat was in Glen Rose again (3rd year I think) - and it was so much fun. I was looking forward to the weekend but was a little unsure of how things would go with our littlest family member on board this year, but Judah was awesome. He took a nap in our hotel room while we attended the adult session using the video monitor & was happy all weekend. The highlights from Saturday... family game time with the daddies being dressed as our heroes (the girls named their daddy Thomas the Train) & the zip line. Anna made it all the way to the top - so brave of her! - and I made the jump. Actually really scary from 45 feet up, entrusting your life to a 20 year old in a tie dye tshirt! We also did a hay ride & devo time at the amphitheater. Sunday morning Tom led worship with his guitar & did so well. It is awesome how far he's come in a few months. The lesson that morning was about the daddies serving their families & each of them washed all of their family members' feet. We have such a sweet Daddy who serves us all the time, but it was a great memory for him to make with the girls. Great weather, great friends, great weekend!
