Halloween

Trick or treat! This year Anna was really hoping to go door to door singing a line from "all the single ladies"... she wanted to be a single lady from our church's summer spectacular Esther musical. I had to explain that wasn't really a church song, so it wasn't appropriate to be a single lady for her costume. She was happy being Queen Esther, as long as I made sure her costume had some purple bling fabric that she had spotted in Hobby Lobby. I remade a costume that she has loved for years from my mom's dress up trunk & used an old Mary Kay prize tiara. She made a beautiful Queen! Mae was easy this year... one of Anna's school friends passed down a recital costume that Mae adored, so she was a super cute ballerina.

Anna got to dress up for school on Friday. She wanted her hair to look like mine in our wedding photos, so she got an updo (which she later took down, it gave her a headache just like it did me on my wedding day). I got to go up to her school to help with the Academic fair - a day of learning games & a PE dance performance. We also got to go as a family to the Yeehaw Fest that night, which Mae said was, "just as fun as Disneyworld!" She is easily impressed by free candy & carnival games.

That same weekend we also got to help one of our church plants put on a fall fest & trunk or treat, then got trick or treat on Halloween night with our neighbors. We got a ridiculous amount of candy that weekend! Thankfully, a friend was collecting candy to take to children in Africa, & the girls were so generous to donate almost all of their candy to that cause. A great Halloween!
