Christmas Fun & Celebrities!

We've had a great week last week... even though this time of year is busy, Christmas time is full of sweet memories. I got to help in Mae's class during the Christmas party. It was precious to get to know her teachers better, interact with all her little friends, & help with lunch & the book exchange. Mae adores her school & I am so thankful that God found the perfect class & teachers for her. She has been a ball to watch blossom into a little girl lately. She holds hilarious conversations with us & has such an imagination suddenly. She is so much fun!

We have lots of fun Christmas traditions... but this is one that we've added in the last couple of years to keep our holiday focused on Christ... our advent Jesse tree. The girls get to hear a Bible story - beginning with creation & leading all the way up to Christ's birth - then open an ornament to hang on this little tree. This is just our second year & they already answer so many of the questions & really seem to "get it".

This week we also got to visit the site of an extreme home makeover just a couple of miles from us. We've gone a few times as the house has gone up, but on our first visit we happened to stand next to the family's parents & grandparents. The designers came right up to chat & take pictures of them - so we got to see Tracy & Eduardo up close & Paulie was right across the street (Ty was at another location that day). It was amazing to see the "inside scoop" on creating the show & just how fast they can throw a house up! Mae & her friend Katie spent an hour playing by the spectator fencing & actually ended up with their picture on the builder's webpage featuring the makeover (I have the link but don't like to post things that disclose where we live).
