Another start to school in the books. I'm writing this about 3 1/2 weeks into our first year of sixth (Anna), third (Mae), & 3s - penguins (Judah). We are slowly finding our groove & trying to establish a new normal that involves 3 kids at 3 schools with 3 different start/end times. I'd say that everyone was ready to start back... the last couple of weeks of summer the girls could not be in the same room without picking at each other... they needed some time apart! Mae was ready to "party" when she saw that not only does she have a super sweet teacher from our church, she's in class with several good friends. She actually said excitedly with hands in the air, "it's a party in here!" at meet the teacher. We had to rein that in a bit! Anna was nervous, but ready to start her middle school adventure as well. No lie - it was a rough couple weeks getting used to the new time (home at 5pm!) & the LOADS of homework. She still isn't happy about that part, but has sweet friends & has gotten used to much of the other new stuff - dressing out in PE, lockers, netbooks, band practice, etc. So proud of how she has gotten used to a major amount of "newness" in just 3 weeks. Judah was so sad to see the girls go off to school & VERY bored the first couple of weeks (I scheduled lots of playdates to keep him busy, otherwise I got to play with him all. day. long). By the time preschool started he was ready to have his own school days. He wasn't too sure about being in a different class without his beloved bee teachers, but he has done awesome - he waves at me happily when he sees me in chapel or the hall which is a huge relief. So far so good!
sad, sad boy having to take his sister to school

Judah's reaction to leaving Mae at school. Pitiful.
hugs from Anna before preschool... she had just gotten out of the shower bc her school doesn't start until 9:20!
Judah with Ms. Lynn from his bee class last year - she stopped by to give him a good luck hug
Judah's penguin teachers - Ms. Adrina & Ms. Whitney
Big girls getting dropped off - the days of going inside to help them get settled are over - but look how ready they look for this new adventure!
