Meet Ruthie

Meet Ruthie - the newest member of our family! Anna had asked for months if she could have an American Girl for her birthday, and you can see by her face that she was thrilled. She even prayed in the days leading up to her birthday, "God, will you please help Mommy, Daddy, Grammy, Dingdaddy, Nana, & Pappy put all of their money together to get me an American Girl." We surprised her that morning with an AG book as a clue & a note that said that we were taking a trip to the AG store to pick out her doll. Grammy, Dingdaddy, cousin Madison, Nana, & the four of us piled in the van (we called it the clown car) & made to trip to pick out Ruthie, find her some outfits, and have Ruthie's ears pierced. Having so many grandparents along working in Anna & Ruthie's favor! Anna's friend Hannah has Kit, who is Ruthie's best friend in the books about their lives during the Great Depression. These two are now eagerly awaiting Kit & Ruthie's first sleepover at Hannah's house (seriously, counting the hours)! Thank you so much to G, D, N & P for making Anna's birthday wish come true - Ruthie has not been put down in the two weeks since! And thank you to Aunt Veda who sent Ruthie her very first package - her Christmas dress - it made Anna's day. This doll is decked out!

Signing Ruthie in for an ear piercing appointment.

It was so fun to share Anna's birthday with her cousin Madison & her grandparents (we missed you Pappy!) I love the picture below with Dingdaddy - especially the choke hold Anna has on Bitsie.

Hannah was in today and I heard all about these dolls. She was beyond excited about the sleep over tonight. What a fun thing for these girls. Seeing Anna at the AG store makes me excited to go one day.
I have missed seeing you this summer. I have thought about you recently and wondered how you are. I have checked on you through friends. : ) Maybe our paths will cross again soon.
