On Easter weekend we pulled off a surprise birthday party for my Papaw - 90 years young! My mom had arranged for all of us to meet at her house & asked my grandparents to come down for Easter weekend. She claimed that no one else was celebrating Easter at their house, so when they arrived Saturday they were surprised to see almost 30 family members gathered to share BBQ & celebrate Papaw. He truly is a patriarch in our family, & no one can quite command the respect that Papaw does. We all have sweet memories of fishing with him, receiving beautiful handcrafted wood pieces as gifts, & hearing his stories. His marriage of 69 years is still loving & strong. We are so thankful for his legacy!
