Anna at camp

A summer catch up post... a first for our Anna - sleep-away camp.  Anna has loved her weekends at Pine Cove for the past couple of years & thought Pine Cove base camp last summer was awesome.  This year, however, was her first real summer camp experience... getting dropped off, knowing no one except her two bunkmate friends, no life long adult mom friends to go to.  Her close neighbor friend, Abby, won two sessions of camp at Caroline Creek Christian outside of Huntsville.  We split the two passes between three girls so that their friend Sydney could go as well.  The three of them plus the three moms (me, Molly, & Lynn) drove down Sunday for drop off.  The girls really surprised us by not really wanting us to leave. They were in their cabin (the giraffe cabin - so cute!) with nothing to distract them so they were very focused on making excuses to keep us there a bit longer.  We knew that once we were out of sight & the activities started they would do great - and we were right.  They loved their 4 days - zip lining, swimming at the water park, archery, a sock hop, the blob, learning goofy songs & games - the whole bit.  On Tuesday Molly, Lynn, & I drove down & stayed in a "fancy" Hunstville motel so we could be at the awards ceremony early Wednesday morning.  Anna got the "meekness" award for being humble, undemanding, & putting others above herself.  The girls were so happy to have gotten to spend 4 days together, but they all agreed it was long enough & were ready to see us!  When we got home Anna went straight to her room & fell asleep for hours.  She hasn't slept during the day in as long as I can remember - camp was exhausting fun!
