Anna's baptism

Oh, beautiful Anna! How proud we are of her! For about 6 months now Anna has been telling us that she was ready to be baptized. She became really serious about it late this summer - spending lots of time with her Bible, reading our "Happy New Birthday" book over & over (highly recommend the book!), and asking lots of questions. She was very willing to answer everything we asked & seemed to have a sweet but mature faith. We felt that she was really ready & had her write a letter about why she had come to her decision for her to look back on. She had one more hurdle to overcome... Anna hates getting her face wet & has never willingly gone under water. In fact, for several years once she realized what being baptized involved she would say, "I'm never ever getting baptized because you have to go under water." We always responded that God would take away that fear when His timing was right. We asked her to prove to us that she was trusting God with going under water & she did - in our bathtub with her swim suit on :). We were able to invite Tom's parents, my parents, and my brothers' families up for the next weekend. The whole weekend was such a blessing - getting to spend time with family & all attending service together. The church had video taped Anna giving her testimony & talking about her faith which they showed at the end of the service - a tear jerker of course! She was very brave & confident as her Daddy gave a precious talk & baptized her in front of all of our church family. A day to remember forever! We are so very grateful to the Lord for moving in Anna's heart, for surrounding her with believing & encouraging friends & family, & for providing such an amazing church. We can't wait to see what He has planned for her life!

We were so sad to miss it, but it sounds like everything went great. So happy for Anna!
