Somebody let these babies start fourth grade & seventh grade! We are a couple of weeks in... and thankfully, smooth sailing! I knew that Mae would jump right in. She has a sweet teacher (that Anna had in third grade), several close friends in her class, & she was finally getting bored of summer. This girl was ready! Easy peasy so far. We are so, so thankful that Anna is having a much smoother start than last year. Now that she knows the school, the netbooks (personal computers), has sweet lunch table friends, etc these first couple weeks were not the frustrating, overwhelming first days that she had last year. As sixth grade progressed she grew so much in her abilities to cope with middle school craziness & she's been a champ this year. Her first day was full of mishaps - going to the wrong class, almost falling down a flight of stairs, getting lost... and she still came out smiling. I won't pretend that she loves school (she loves her friends, but not school work), but these first two weeks she's come out tired but not frazzled. Much less homework these first weeks make us hopeful that this year won't be as intense (only 3 PreAP classes this year instead of 4). We are so proud of her!
