More Honduras

These pics are so terribly out of order, but it's hard to switch them around so I'll just fix them when I print our blog book... more sweet pics from Campemento:

Mae with Bailey... I loved all the teens on this trip.  They were troopers & were so entertaining!  Mae & Bailey looked like blond sisters.  So thankful for such amazing role models for my girls.

Me & my mamasita

The cluster of homes that we visited to concrete - we worked on the one on the far left

crafts with the kids one afternoon - thankful to our church for donating fun supplies that the kids LOVED

more mural painting - Mae & I painting our Sussanna's little hand
Singing with the elderly Campemento residents at the senior center... these are the sweetest group of seniors - so many hugs & cheek kisses that afternoon!
 Ice cream stop downtown
We let our husbands talk us into letting the kids zip line (after they tried it out first).  It was an awesome experience for our girls & surprisingly even our less adventurous (Anna) loved it!  Proud of those brave girls!

One night the church youth joined us for a cook out & one of the girls braided all of our kids hair.  Impressive skills!

Such fun to share the week with Tom, Mae, Anna, & my mom.  It was definitely a stretching/growing week for all of us.  Mae said (hilariously) during devo the first night that she wants to see how other kids grow up - kids who don't have "perfect lives like perfect little me".  This week for sure gives us a different perspective.  We all get to see up close how most of the families around the world scrape by.   It reminds us to be thankful for every taken-for-granted blessing.  We get to see the joy in the hearts of the Honduran kids & parents that we grow closer to each year, & the blessing of serving them is worth the cost of getting there.  We get to watch Americans (Donnie) & Hondurans (Cece, Luli, Rosie) live sacrificially to make the lives of these families better in big & small ways - truly being Jesus' hands & feet every day.  So thankful for the opportunity.
