Spring Break Camping

So many pics - too hard to choose!  I love outdoor camping pics - even if my kids do have CRAZY hair (I don't do hair when we camp - they are lucky to have brushed teeth).  This was our second annual spring break family camping trip - once again so much fun but not ideal weather.  Josh, Jeni, their girls, Mike, Krystal, her niece & nephew - Ayden & Ari, Grammy &  Dingdaddy all met us in Huntsville at the state park.  Nana, Pappy, Kelly, Dylan, & Presley, cousin Trinity & Uncle Harvey met us there as well.  Lots of cousins!  Our first night was great & most of Saturday was beautiful as well.  We fished, played at the playground, did a guided nature walk, & a few brave souls took out Josh's kayak.  The kids entertained themselves really well & Trinity was a huge help keeping tabs on all the littles.  Their favorite game was setting up a "bird resort", which crazy enough actually attracted birds, then keeping a log of the birds that visited as they watched through binoculars.

Our second evening got really rainy - like tons of rain.  Everything got totally soaked.  We were cozy in our pop up but the storm was super loud & Mike & Krystal didn't fair so well in their tent.  Not a lot of sleep that second night!  The next morning was kind of miserably cold so we packed up as fast as we could to head home.  We hated to cut things a night short, but camping in the cold when everything is wet isn't too much fun.

Despite the second night we made lots of fun memories the first 24 hours.  Bonus - only one ER visit (Paige's poor pitiful ear infection which actually resulted in surgery two days after their return home).  Compared the last year's eventfulness (near drowning, concussion, broken pop up cable), this year was super smooth!  Such a blessing to have family who loves hanging out together.

Loved it so much. How blessed we are that we can do this together. Next year.........0% chance of rain would make it perfect.
